Regulation (EU) 2026/1314 – Updated Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs)
The European Commission has adopted Regulation (EU) 2026/1314, amending the Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs) for selected pesticide active substances under Regulation (EC) No. 396/2005. The revised limits apply to a wide range of fruits, vegetables, cereals, spices, oilseeds and food of animal origin, with the new requirements becoming applicable from 6 January 2027.
The regulation updates MRLs for 1,4-dimethylnaphthalene, 8-hydroxyquinoline, pinoxaden and several other active substances following scientific evaluations by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). These revisions are intended to strengthen consumer protection while ensuring that residue limits remain aligned with current agricultural practices and toxicological assessments.
