Key Responsibilities
Technical & Analytical Responsibilities
- Perform microbiological analysis of food samples, including:
- Total Plate Count (TPC)
- Yeast & Mold
- Coliforms, E. coli
- Salmonella, Staphylococcus aureus, Listeria and other pathogens
- Ensure proper sample receipt, preparation, enrichment, incubation and interpretation
- Operate and maintain microbiology laboratory equipment such as:
-
- Autoclaves, incubators, biosafety cabinets, colony counters, PCR (if applicable)
- Verify and review test results before report release
- Ensure adherence to FSSAI, ISO/IEC 17025, BAM
Quality, Compliance & Documentation
- Implement and maintain ISO/IEC 17025 quality system requirements
- Handle method validation, verification, and uncertainty (where applicable)
- Support internal, external, and NABL audits
- Ensure compliance with GLP, data integrity and documentation standards
Team & Operational Responsibilities
- Plan daily testing schedules and ensure turnaround time (TAT) adherence
- Ensure laboratory hygiene, biosafety, and waste management compliance
- Coordinate with QA, reporting and customer service teams for smooth operations
Qualification & Experience:
Educational Qualification:
- M.Sc. Microbiology / Food Microbiology / Life Sciences
(B.Sc. Microbiology with strong experience may be considered)
Experience:
- 2 -3 years of hands-on experience in a food testing microbiology laboratory
- Prior experience working in an ISO/IEC 17025 or NABL-accredited lab is mandatory
